Terms of Service
The agreement governing WealthScout accounts, household workspaces, subscriptions, and public website use.
Last updated: 17 July 2026
Agreement and Operator
These Terms of Service apply to wealthscout.app, app.wealthscout.app, WealthScout accounts, household workspaces, emails, subscriptions, and related services that link to these terms.
In these terms, “WealthScout”, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean the Australian company operating the WealthScout service. Before public product launch, this section will be updated with the company’s registered legal name, business address, and ABN.
You agree to these terms by selecting “Agree and continue”, creating or using an account after the terms are presented, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise using the service. If you do not agree, do not use WealthScout.
Eligibility and Supported Countries
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a contract to hold a WealthScout account.
WealthScout currently supports households based in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Feature, tax, market, and currency coverage differs by country and may be incomplete.
You must provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorised access.
The WealthScout Service
WealthScout is household wealth record-keeping, reporting, calculation, and modelling software. It helps users organise financial records, review changes, and explore assumptions and scenarios.
Features may include household records, assets, liabilities, income, budgets, investments, property, retirement accounts, tax estimates, projections, imports, attachments, exports, reminders, and other tools released from time to time.
Some features are experimental, in beta, incomplete, or limited to particular countries, plans, providers, data types, or account configurations. Labels, descriptions, documentation, and in-product notices form part of the explanation of those limitations.
Plans and Feature Access
WealthScout may offer Core, Shares Tax, and Complete plans. The features, usage limits, attachment limits, country coverage, and other inclusions of each plan are those displayed in the product or at checkout when you subscribe.
We may also provide trials, beta access, complimentary access, promotional access, or other limited entitlements. Unless expressly stated otherwise, these may end at the stated time and do not guarantee future paid or free access.
We may improve, replace, add, remove, or limit features. We will take reasonable steps to notify affected paid users before a materially adverse change and, where practicable, apply a materially adverse paid-plan change from the next renewal rather than during a current paid period.
Prices, Billing, and Renewal
The price, currency, billing interval, renewal date, applicable taxes, trial terms, and plan selected at checkout form part of your agreement with us. You must review those details before completing a purchase.
Unless checkout states otherwise, a paid subscription renews automatically for the billing interval shown at checkout until cancelled. You authorise our payment provider to charge the payment method on file for each renewal and applicable taxes.
If a payment fails, we may retry it and provide a limited grace period, currently intended to be seven days. Paid access may be restricted or end if payment remains unsuccessful. You remain responsible for amounts properly incurred before cancellation or expiry.
We may change future prices by giving reasonable advance notice. A price change applies no earlier than the next renewal after the notice period unless you expressly agree otherwise.
Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel a subscription at any time through the available billing controls. Cancellation stops the next renewal. Unless required by law or stated otherwise at checkout, paid access continues until the end of the current paid billing period.
Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated at checkout, fees are non-refundable, including for change of mind, unused time, partial billing periods, or failure to use the service.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies a consumer guarantee, statutory remedy, refund right, or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded. A duplicate charge, service failure, or other legally recognised circumstance may require a refund, credit, re-supply, or other remedy.
Downgrades and Retained Data
Cancelling, downgrading, or losing paid access does not ordinarily delete household financial records. Features, editing, calculations, reports, imports, attachments, or other capabilities outside the current plan may become unavailable or read-only.
Last known values may continue to appear in historical snapshots or summaries with their recorded dates and provenance. Locked, stale, or unavailable Premium calculations are not represented as newly refreshed results.
You may delete the household separately using the permanent deletion process. Where available, ordinary household data export does not require an active paid plan.
Households and Other People
A WealthScout workspace represents a household. Current household members have broad read and write access to its information, including information entered by other members.
Under the current household model, any current member may permanently delete the entire household and remove access for every member and pending invitee. Only invite people you trust and maintain your own copies of records you cannot afford to lose.
If you enter information about another adult, child, dependant, beneficiary, trustee, officer, or other person, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and will make them aware of WealthScout’s Privacy Policy where appropriate.
A household record is not proof of legal ownership, beneficial ownership, authority, tax treatment, account title, or an enforceable agreement between household members.
Your Content and Data
You retain your rights in financial records, documents, notes, and other content you submit to WealthScout. You give us a non-exclusive licence to host, copy, process, transmit, format, back up, and display that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service or comply with law.
You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, quality, and completeness of your content and for keeping original statements, tax records, contracts, receipts, and other source documents where independent retention is important.
You must not upload content you are not authorised to use, malicious files, unlawful material, or unnecessary government identifiers, account credentials, or highly sensitive information that WealthScout has not asked you to provide.
Financial, Tax, and Other Information
WealthScout provides factual information, user-directed calculations, record-keeping tools, estimates, and illustrative models. It does not provide personal financial, investment, tax, accounting, credit, insurance, legal, or other professional advice.
Outputs depend on the information you provide, third-party data, assumptions, selected settings, simplified rules, and product coverage. They may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, unavailable, or unsuitable for your circumstances.
Tax estimates and projections cannot account for every law, election, exemption, deduction, structure, policy change, market event, personal objective, or future outcome. They are not tax returns, forecasts, guarantees, or recommendations to acquire, hold, change, or dispose of a financial product.
You are responsible for checking important information against original sources and obtaining appropriately qualified professional advice before acting.
Acceptable Use
You must not share account credentials; access another person’s account without authority; scrape, crawl, copy, or extract the service at unreasonable scale; conduct security or penetration testing without written permission; bypass plan limits or access controls; reverse engineer the service except where law permits; resell or commercially exploit the service without agreement; upload malware; interfere with availability; impersonate another person; or use WealthScout unlawfully.
You must not use automated access in a way that creates unreasonable load, circumvents published interfaces, or harms the service or another user. We may apply reasonable technical limits to protect security, performance, provider capacity, and fair use.
If you discover a security issue, report it privately to security@wealthscout.app and do not access, change, retain, or disclose more information than reasonably necessary to describe the issue.
Third-Party Services and Data
WealthScout relies on third-party providers for functions such as authentication, hosting, databases, file storage, email, address lookup, monitoring, payments, and market data. Third-party availability, accuracy, policies, and processing may affect the service.
Third-party links, exports, integrations, and services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. WealthScout does not control information you independently upload or send to another service, including an AI assistant.
Market prices, exchange rates, address data, tax sources, and other external information may be delayed, adjusted, incomplete, withdrawn, or subject to provider restrictions. You should verify important external data before relying on it.
Availability, Support, and Backups
We provide WealthScout on an “as available” and best-efforts basis. We do not promise a service level, uptime percentage, support response time, uninterrupted availability, or that every error will be corrected.
We use backups and recovery measures appropriate to the service, but backups are not an archive service and do not guarantee that any particular record, version, file, household, or deletion can be recovered.
Maintenance, provider failure, security events, legal requirements, beta changes, or circumstances outside our reasonable control may interrupt or limit the service.
Suspension and Termination
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address a security risk, unlawful conduct, material breach, non-payment, provider restriction, harm to another user, or risk to the service. Where appropriate, we will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to remedy the issue.
You may stop using WealthScout at any time. Subscription cancellation, household deletion, and deletion of a separate authentication account are different actions and may have different effects.
We may discontinue the service by giving reasonable notice where practicable. Provisions intended to survive termination, including payment obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, dispute terms, and lawful retention of records, continue to apply.
WealthScout Intellectual Property
WealthScout and its licensors own the service, software, design, branding, documentation, templates, and other materials we provide, excluding your content and third-party material.
Subject to these terms, we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for your own household purposes during your permitted access.
Feedback may be used to improve WealthScout without payment or restriction, provided we do not identify you publicly without permission.
Consumer Rights and Disclaimers
Our services may come with guarantees and remedies that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws. These terms do not exclude, restrict, or modify those rights.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to mandatory rights, we do not give warranties that WealthScout will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, suitable for a particular decision, or that data, calculations, estimates, projections, imports, exports, or third-party information will be complete or accurate.
Where law permits a remedy to be limited, our liability may be limited to re-supplying the affected service or paying the reasonable cost of having it re-supplied.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WealthScout is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential loss, lost profits, lost opportunity, investment loss, tax liability, loss caused by inaccurate user or third-party data, or loss that was not reasonably foreseeable.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us for the affected service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and A$100.
You remain responsible for loss or claims to the extent caused by your unlawful use, unauthorised content, credential sharing, or material breach of these terms.
Disputes and Governing Law
If a dispute arises, contact support@wealthscout.app with enough detail for us to understand the issue. Either party may then give a written dispute notice, after which both parties will try in good faith to resolve the dispute for 30 days.
If the dispute remains unresolved, either party may propose online mediation with a mutually agreed mediator. Unless agreed otherwise, each party bears its own costs and shares the mediator’s fees equally.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. The courts and tribunals of New South Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
Nothing in this section prevents either party seeking urgent relief, making a complaint to a regulator, using an available consumer tribunal or small-claims process, or relying on mandatory rights and jurisdictions that apply where the user lives.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. By using WealthScout, you acknowledge that the Privacy Policy applies to the service.
Consent to these Terms of Service is recorded against the authenticated account, including the accepted document version and timestamp. We may retain that acceptance record where reasonably needed to establish the agreement, comply with law, or resolve a dispute.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms to reflect product, provider, legal, security, or commercial changes. The current version will be published here with its last updated date.
If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users and may require renewed acceptance before further use. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance only where permitted by law and after appropriate notice.
